Spring Break 2013

While a lot of people celebrate Spring Break with a warm-weather destination in mind, we spent the week here in Mason, OH.  And it wasn't really springlike in weather.  Not at all.  In fact, there was snow on the ground Monday and Tuesday.  It did warm up (a little) by the end of the week, but for the most part...it was a cold one.  Here are just a few pics from the week:
I love this one just because Morgan looks like such a big kid brushing his teeth from the toilet.  Good thing he is growing up too, as we'll be starting over from infancy in a matter of days/weeks.  Cortny and Elliott came to town as well for a good part of the week and we met up with them at the Blue Manatee one morning.  Morgan and Tessa loved the story and song time there and Morgan was so loving on Elliott.  Hopefully he will be just as loving with little Nolan.
Friday was probably the warmest day and we spent the morning and early afternoon at the zoo with Nate's mom and Steve, plus their Uncle Brian and cousins Logan and Lexi.  They had a great time and were thrilled the train and carousel were back in business for the year.

Saturday was a day of egg hunts and Easter fun.  We started out with the Polca's at their annual church egg hunt and inflatable celebration.  As always, the kids had a blast.  It was our third year in a row to attend and it is just so much fun each year!
Afterwards, we headed to Grandma Carol's for another egg hunt, some cousin fun, and lots of good food.  Uncle Chuck even brought out the cotton candy machine, which the kids enjoyed.  I love this picture of them!
And today is Easter.  The Easter bunny came and brought baskets of goodies.  In a bit, we'll head to church and then brunch with Nate's side followed by dinner at my mom's.  We took charge of dessert and here is the cake the kids helped me make yesterday.  Isn't it pretty?  Happy Easter everyone!

All About Easter

It's been an Easter Eggstavaganza in the Palmer house this week.  Thursday night was the annual Easter celebration at Kids R Kids.  They had a blast meeting the Easter bunny, making crafts, and playing with their friends.
And the fun continued on Saturday at the church Easter celebration, where the crafts, egg hunts, and fun continued!
And yet another greeting with the Easter bunny.

Morgan has been all about his baby brother these days and is constantly saying, "I love baby Nolan, so much!"  I hope he feels the same way once he is outside the belly!
Another picture with the Kids R Kids bunny!
And this last one Nate sent me from his phone.  Not exactly from Easter, but it is Morgan with his Spiderman balloon animal from Joseph Beth last weekend.
And one last one from Good Shepherd.  (Obviously these are way out of order...Nate sent all of these from his phone).  Sorry!
Baby Nolan is still on the inside.  And honestly I'm hoping he stays there at least another week.  But, I guess I'm not really in charge of that matter, so I'll keep you posted!

Baby on the Way! (Hopefully)

I went to the doctor on Monday for my weekly checkup and was 1.5 cm and 50-60% effaced.  Baby on the way!  I kind of would like him to hold off until after next week and let me enjoy my last spring break with Tessa and Morgan before the chaos ensues!  (And getting through all our Easter plans next weekend would be nice too).  Nolan, stay in until April 1!  Regardless, my doctor said he could come any day now, and even though I am only 36 weeks and not the full-term 37, he feels perfectly comfortable delivering Nolan now.  If he doesn't make an appearance though, my next appointment is Thursday the 28th so we can see how things are progressing.  In the meantime, the carseat is installed, the baby's hospital bag is packed, the clothes are washed, and the rest of the gear is sitting in a huge pile (perhaps I should start putting that around the house?)

In other news, we celebrated Jenna and Erin's birthday (their cousins) this weekend at a family party.  They had a blast; of course, they love playing with their cousins.  Morgan has been throwing fits the past couple weeks, but was a little angel at the party.  After the bronchitis last week not getting any better, we got a second round of antibiotics and now he is on day 5 of amoxicillin.  And guess what?  He is doing so much better, including the fits.  Poor boy just didn't feel well.  I am glad he is starting to improve!
This one was from a few weeks ago, but I don't think I ever posted it.  Tessa and Morgan both love the monthly kids craft at Home Depot.  This month it was building your own car, one of the better crafts we've done there.  Wonder what it will be next month?
And I just thought this picture was cute.  Despite the bickering that flows throughout every day, they really do love each other.  I loved that they chose to watch a show like this one day, snuggled together munching on trail mix.  I can't believe there is going to be another one in a matter of weeks (or days!)

Weekend in Review (Yes, It's Friday)

Just in time to start our next weekend, I finally found some time to post about last weekend.  I am really looking forward to not being pregnant anymore and getting some energy back (only to be coupled with the intense sleep deprivation of having a newborn).  Anyways, we had a great weekend last weekend.  On Sunday, my mom and I took the kids to the zoo.  Morgan walked the whole time (No stroller!) and did great for almost three hours.  I was impressed and happy, as there was no way I could lug him around right now.  I am HUGE!  They were thrilled to see that the goat petting is operational again (they close the goat feeding and petting throughout the winter months).

This peacock was in the middle of the penguins, just hanging out with it's feathers splayed.  The kids stood there in awe watching it!
And Tessa brushing one of the goats.  She is a little more cautious of the goats since one of them ate her skirt last year.
On Saturday, Nate and I took the kids to the mall to see Peter Rabbit at Pottery Barn Kids.  While there, we also saw the Easter bunny and made a Build-a-Bear for their baby brother.

As for me, I am 35 weeks and counting!  Tessa arrived at 37 weeks and Morgan at 38, so we could really have a newborn in a few short weeks.  Crazy!
